And, although there may not be financial aid available for wedding planning business courses, there may be credit and financing plans available from the school offering the courses.

After you graduate from a good program, you will have all the resources you need to start a wedding planning business. Even if you've never had a single client many schools will show you how to put together a winning resume and portfolio. You may set up shop in a physical location where clients can meet with you, however for new wedding planners this may not be in the budget. No worries, you can always make house calls or meet with clients at locations like cafes or restaurants to discuss wedding plans.

Before opening your wedding planner business, make sure you have all the legalities in place, for example your business license. You will also need to forge friendly working relationships with florists, caterers, DJs, photographers and other professionals you may work with in the future. In some cases, a planner can earn a commission for referring business to one of these professionals. The income you will earn as a wedding planner depends greatly on a variety of factors, including how often you work, how much you charge and the average size of the weddings you handle.
